Davin Michaelis joined Sunfish Partners in 2025 as a venture partner, supporting the team part-time with defense investments.

Davin enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1999, and served his full career in Special Operations. He served pivotal roles across multiple deployments (20+) To the Middle East and North Africa during the post-9/11 conflicts.

For his final assignment, he was appointed Liaison Officer to the Intelligence Community in Washington, D.C., coordinating special operations and intelligence at the highest levels. His distinguished service earned him the Bronze Star with V Device, multiple FBI Shields of Bravery, and intelligence achievement awards.

He is a proven national security leader with significant experience in sensitive, high-risk operations and has advised defense startups in Europe and the US.

Davin holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a BS in Arabic from Excelsior College.
